Howard County Catholic Young Adults is a three-parish based community of young adults who seek to draw close to Christ and His church through prayer, friendship, discussion, study and service. In addition to our weekly book club meetings, we come together for a wide range of events: social gatherings, liturgies, and other various activities. New participants from the parish and beyond (ages 20 to 39, single, married, and married with children, Catholic or Non- Catholic) are always welcome to join us for any meeting or event. We hope that Catholics and other Christians will feel welcome to come and get to know us, and see the benefits of meeting and socializing with other young adults who see to live their Faith.
What We’re About
Our ministry originated from several young adults in the parish who were seeking fellowship and spiritual growth with other young Christians. The ministry was founded the Fall 2013 and has been growing and developing ever since. Our main weekly meeting is on Tuesday nights at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, from 7:30 to 9pm (check calendar we take breaks in between books). We hope to combine fellowship with prayer and faith to promote an open, vibrant Christian culture, and the mutual encouragement of Christian life among participants of the ministry. The events or meetings we offer to support our mission are Faith based Book Clubs, Friday Night Dinners, Saturday Gatherings, Women’s Group, Retreats, and other various activities for example have been Trivia Nights, outings to Festival, and Hiking outings. We strive to reach young adults in their twenties and thirties through prayer, study, service, fellowship, faith sharing and friendships. Everyone brings unique gifts and talents to the ministry. Our ministry continues to flourish because of the new addition of young adults with varying talents, personalities, background and experiences. It is always exciting to see so many new faces each week. We hope you feel welcome to join us.
